Texas Tech Football Unveils 2025 Schedule with Seven Home Games…

Texas Tech University has officially announced its 2025 football schedule, which features seven home games at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock.

This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time since 2005 that the Red Raiders will begin their season with three consecutive home games. Fans and analysts are eager to see how Texas Tech navigates this exciting lineup.

Non-Conference Matchups to Watch

The Red Raiders will kick off their season on August 30, 2025, against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, a matchup that should set the tone for the season. The following week, on September 6, Texas Tech will face Kent State, another non-conference opponent. The non-conference slate concludes on September 13, when the Red Raiders take on Oregon State, a Power Five opponent that could prove to be a challenging test.

Big 12 Play Begins on the Road

Texas Tech will start its Big 12 conference schedule with an away game against Utah on September 20. This will be the first-ever conference meeting between the Red Raiders and the Utes, following Utah’s recent inclusion in the Big 12. The team will then have a bye week before traveling to Houston on October 4, another crucial road game against a former Southwest Conference rival.

Home Crowd Advantage in October

Red Raider fans will be thrilled to welcome their team back to Lubbock for a homecoming clash against Kansas on October 11. This will be followed by a showdown against Oklahoma State on October 25, a rivalry that has been highly competitive in recent seasons. With two key conference matchups in a row at home, Texas Tech will be looking to capitalize on home-field advantage.

Tough Road Tests in November

The road to a successful season doesn’t get any easier in November, as the Red Raiders will travel to face Kansas State on November 1 and Arizona State on October 18. Kansas State has been one of the top teams in the Big 12 in recent years, making this a high-stakes battle. Arizona State, another recent Big 12 addition, will provide an unfamiliar but exciting challenge for Texas Tech.

Closing the Season Strong

The Red Raiders will return to Jones AT&T Stadium for their final two home games against BYU on November 8 and UCF on November 15. These matchups could have significant implications for Big 12 standings and bowl eligibility. Texas Tech will close out the regular season with a trip to West Virginia on November 29, a game that has traditionally been a hard-fought contest.

Notable Absences and Future Implications

One of the most surprising aspects of the 2025 schedule is the absence of traditional rivals TCU and Baylor. This shift in scheduling reflects the changing landscape of the Big 12 after recent conference realignments.

With seven home games and a challenging conference lineup, Texas Tech’s 2025 football season promises to be an exhilarating ride for fans and players alike.
