The Ohio State Buckeyes are basking in the glory of their latest national championship victory, marking a historic milestone in college football.

Under head coach Ryan Day, the Buckeyes became the first team to win both the four-team and 12-team College Football Playoff formats, solidifying their place as one of the most dominant programs in the nation. Their path to the title was nothing short of remarkable, as they defeated five top-10 opponents en route to the championship.

On Sunday, thousands of Buckeye fans packed Ohio Stadium to celebrate their team’s triumph. The event featured heartfelt speeches from players, coaches, and university officials, highlighting the resilience and dedication that fueled Ohio State’s championship run. Coach Day addressed the crowd, thanking the Buckeye faithful for their unwavering support. Quarterback Will Howard, who played a crucial role in the playoff run, called it a “dream come true” to bring the national title back to Columbus.

Key Players Declare for NFL Draft

While the Buckeyes are still celebrating their championship, several key players have already announced their intentions to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. Running back Quinshon Judkins, who transferred from Ole Miss and became a standout performer for Ohio State, confirmed his decision to go pro. Judkins played a pivotal role in the Buckeyes’ ground attack and was a difference-maker in crucial games.

Additionally, quarterback Will Howard, who transferred from Kansas State before the season, has seen his draft stock rise significantly. Howard’s leadership and poise in high-pressure situations made him a key asset for the Buckeyes, and many analysts believe he could be an early-round pick.

On the defensive side, safety Lathan Ransom is another name generating buzz in NFL scouting circles. Ransom was instrumental in Ohio State’s defensive success, showcasing elite playmaking ability and football intelligence. His strong performance in the College Football Playoff further cemented his reputation as a top-tier prospect.

With these departures, Ohio State will rely on its strong recruiting class and returning veterans to maintain its dominance. The Buckeyes consistently rank among the top programs in recruiting, ensuring that fresh talent will step up to fill the void left by departing stars.

Coaching Staff Changes Shake Up the Program

Beyond player departures, the Buckeyes are also undergoing significant changes within their coaching staff. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles is reportedly leaving Ohio State to take the same position at Penn State. Knowles was a key architect of the Buckeyes’ defensive resurgence over the past two seasons, and his departure presents a challenge for Ohio State moving forward.

The Buckeyes will now be tasked with finding a replacement who can maintain their elite defensive standard. Given Ohio State’s stature, they are expected to attract top coaching candidates for the role. Names like Alabama’s Charles Kelly and Michigan’s Jesse Minter have already been speculated as potential options.

Despite these coaching changes, Ohio State remains in a strong position. Ryan Day’s leadership has ensured stability within the program, and his ability to recruit both players and coaches will be crucial in navigating these transitions.

Looking Ahead to the 2025 Season

With a championship in hand, Ohio State now turns its attention to the future. The Buckeyes will enter the 2025 season as a favorite to contend for another title, especially with the expanded 12-team playoff format providing more opportunities.

The program’s strong recruiting efforts have already positioned them for sustained success. Five-star recruits like quarterback Julian Sayin and linebacker Sammy Brown are expected to make an immediate impact, helping the Buckeyes remain at the top of college football.

Additionally, key returners such as wide receiver Carnell Tate and defensive lineman Tyleik Williams will provide experience and leadership. With a mix of veteran talent and incoming stars, Ohio State appears ready to defend its championship and continue its dominance in the Big Ten and beyond.

Final Thoughts

Ohio State’s 2025 national championship is a testament to the program’s strength, resilience, and winning culture. While the departures of key players and coaches present challenges, the Buckeyes are well-equipped to reload and remain competitive at the highest level.

As fans celebrate this historic victory, the focus will soon shift to the next chapter of Buckeye football. With a talented roster, a committed coaching staff, and an unwavering fan base, Ohio State is poised to remain a powerhouse in college football for years to come.
