As of early February 2025, the Florida Gators’ football recruiting class has made significant strides within the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Following a strong finish to the 2024 season, including notable victories over ranked opponents, the Gators’ recruiting efforts have gained momentum. This resurgence is evident in their current standing, where they are ranked 8th in the SEC and 11th nationally, according to 247Sports.
A pivotal factor in this upward trajectory is the commitment of four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III, who chose Florida over other prominent programs. Brown, ranked as the No. 6 wide receiver and No. 39 overall prospect nationally, brings a legacy connection to the Gators, being the son of former Florida defensive back Vernell Brown Jr.
The Gators’ 2025 class comprises 23 signees, including 14 four-star recruits and 11 players ranked in the top 300 of various national recruiting rankings. This class addresses key positional needs, particularly at wide receiver and in the secondary. Notable signees include cornerback Ben Hanks, ranked No. 7 at his position and No. 53 overall, and defensive end Jayden Woods, ranked No. 7 among edge rushers and No. 75 overall.
