Texas Tech’s 2025 National Signing Day marked a significant milestone for the Red Raiders, as head coach Joey McGuire unveiled a promising class of 17 recruits.

This group comprises a balanced mix of offensive and defensive talents, reflecting the program’s strategic focus on bolstering key positions and enhancing overall team speed.

Offensive Additions:

Quarterback: Leading the class is quarterback Lloyd Jones III from Hitchcock High School. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 210 pounds, Jones is a four-star recruit ranked 28th among quarterbacks nationally. His combination of size, arm strength, and athleticism makes him a potential cornerstone for Texas Tech’s future offensive schemes.

Wide Receivers: The Red Raiders have strengthened their receiving corps with four notable signees:

Tristian Gentry (Stephenville): A 5-foot-11, 175-pound receiver, Gentry is a four-star recruit ranked 45th nationally at his position. Leyton Stone (Frenship): Standing at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, Stone is a three-star recruit known for his agility and route-running precision. Michael Dever (Lubbock-Cooper): At 6-foot and 170 pounds, Dever is a four-star recruit who previously committed to Colorado State before choosing Texas Tech. Bryson Jones (Frisco Lone Star): A 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver, Jones is a four-star recruit with offers from Pittsburgh, Arkansas, and SMU.

Tight Ends: The class includes two tight ends:

Preztynn Harrison (Mineral Wells): A 6-foot-5, 210-pound three-star recruit known for his versatility. Sean Robinson (Cibolo Steele): Standing at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Robinson is a three-star athlete who switched his commitment to Texas Tech on signing day.

Offensive Linemen: To fortify the trenches, Texas Tech signed five offensive linemen:

Danilo Guberinich (Ann Arbor, Michigan): A 6-foot-5, 300-pound three-star tackle. Patrick McMath (Katy): A 6-foot-3, 260-pound three-star interior lineman. Garin Maley (Papillion-La Vista, Nebraska): Standing at 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, Maley is a three-star tackle. Elias Gillen (Rapid City, South Dakota): A 6-foot-6, 300-pound three-star interior lineman. Ren Brown (Stanton, Nebraska): A 6-foot-5, 300-pound three-star interior lineman.

Defensive Reinforcements:

Defensive Line: The Red Raiders added Dylan Singleton from Loreauville, Louisiana. At 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, Singleton is a three-star defensive tackle known for his strength and agility.

Linebacker: Brock Golwas from Marcus High School in Flower Mound joins the team as a 6-foot-1, 225-pound three-star linebacker, bringing physicality and field awareness to the defense.

Defensive Backs: The secondary is bolstered by three recruits:

Michael Henderson III (Wylie East): A 5-foot-9, 175-pound three-star safety. Deante Lindsay (Ada, Oklahoma): Standing at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, Lindsay is a three-star cornerback. Braylan McDonald (Lancaster): A 5-foot-11, 190-pound three-star safety.

Head coach Joey McGuire expressed enthusiasm about the class, stating, “I’m really excited about this class. It’s a smaller class than our last two… We really went hard again for speed and we went hard on the offensive line. It’s a really strong group of offensive linemen.”

This 2025 recruiting class reflects Texas Tech’s commitment to building a dynamic and balanced team, with a clear emphasis on enhancing both offensive firepower and defensive resilience. As these recruits integrate into the program, the Red Raiders aim to ascend in the competitive landscape of college football.
