There’s a lot of exciting things coming up for fans of Starz’s Outlander. In addition to the eighth and final season, which recently started production in Scotland, the show will return for the second half of its seventh season this autumn. There will soon be an Outlander prequel series.
The love story of Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, and Jamie Fraser’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, will be the main emphasis of Blood of my Blood. According to Starz, “The series will centre on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie’s parents in the early 18th century Scottish Highlands and Claire’s parents in WWI England.” Here is all we currently know about the prequel to Outlander.
Two parallel love tales will be the main emphasis of the series. The prequel series will be written and executive produced by Matthew B. Roberts, the former showrunner of Outlander.
Executive producers Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis will also be back. Telling the tales of these two couples makes us very happy. In a statement, Roberts said, “We’re thrilled for fans to discover and fall in love with these characters and their love stories the way they have with Claire and Jamie. The origins of their relationships explore universal themes that transcend time periods.”
He stated that “Outlander: Blood of My Blood is, at its core, a love story” when the prequel was first revealed. In a time when love is viewed as a luxury and marriages are arranged purposefully, frequently for financial or political reasons, it will examine the extent to which people will go in search of love. Fans of Outlander will recognise a number of names and faces, and the title alludes to Jamie Fraser’s marriage promise to Claire.
While season eight of Jamie and Claire’s TV series may mark the end of their adventure, Diana is working hard on book 10 and continuing their literary journey in her fantastic book series. There is still so much more to come in the Outlander universe with Jamie and Claire, and now with Brian and Ellen. We are excited to keep telling our devoted fans these tales.
In 2025, the program will make its debut. Although the season’s exact premiere date has not yet been made public, Starz has stated that there will be 10 episodes.
