Bryce Young Admits: ‘I Wish I Had Played for LSU Instead’

In a revelation that has sent Alabama fans into a state of collective shock, former Crimson Tide quarterback and current NFL star Bryce Young has publicly admitted that he wishes he had played for LSU instead of Alabama. The shocking statement came during an appearance on a national sports talk show, where Young was asked about his time at Alabama and whether he had any regrets about his college career.

“Look, I had an amazing experience at Alabama, no doubt,” Young began. “But if I’m being totally honest? Sometimes I think about how things might’ve been different if I had gone to LSU. The culture, the energy, the fan base—it’s just different down there.”

The statement immediately set social media on fire, with Alabama fans feeling betrayed by the player they once adored. Young, who won a Heisman Trophy and led the Tide to an SEC Championship, was supposed to be a Crimson Tide legend. Now, many in Tuscaloosa are questioning his loyalty.

Alabama’s fan base, known for its unwavering passion, did not take kindly to the remarks. Longtime fans flooded message boards, sports radio shows, and social media with their reactions. “I used to have his jersey framed in my house,” said one furious Alabama supporter. “Now? I just set it on fire. He can go sit with those LSU folks for all I care.”

Meanwhile, LSU fans have wasted no time in claiming Young as one of their own. Baton Rouge restaurants have already started offering “Bryce’s Regret” specials, and Tiger fans have been photoshopping images of Young in an LSU jersey, calling him “one of us.” LSU head coach Brian Kelly even took a playful jab, saying, “I guess he finally realized where the real Death Valley is.”

Nick Saban, Young’s former coach, was asked for his thoughts but responded in typical Saban fashion. “I don’t care about hypotheticals,” he said. “We focus on the players who actually played for us.” However, sources close to the program say the comment didn’t sit well with Saban, who has always prided himself on building a strong player-coach relationship.

Young’s former teammates at Alabama were equally surprised by his statement. One anonymous player said, “We fought for him every single game. And now he’s out here talking about LSU? Man, that’s tough to hear.”

Young later attempted to clarify his comments, saying, “I wasn’t trying to disrespect Alabama. I’ll always be grateful for my time there. I was just saying, you know, sometimes you wonder about the what-ifs.” But for many Alabama fans, the damage was already done.

One thing is for certain—Young should probably avoid wearing purple and gold any time soon if he ever plans on visiting Tuscaloosa again.
